"Parked on Polique Canyon Road where the PCT intersects. There is no signage, but it is where the second set of asphalt ends. The GPS coordinates are 34.17.1N and 116.55.2 W. Go west on the PCT trail for 2.25 miles and then walk up the ravine. (A big thanks to Mike Teeples for putting these direction in his notes as I never would have found the ravine if not for his guidance. His directions were spot on). Saw several PCT thru hikers. "Mtb and hike clean out of Holcomb valley area. Got rained on for first two hours quite unexpectedly, but skies cleared for hike up arctic point. Took HPS route 3. It’s steep and not much of a trail but it went decently the whole way up. Clouds parted near the top for an amazing view of San Gorgonio. 10 mile ride it back to town" — edg • Sep 2, 2023
"Took Polique Canyon Road from Fawnskin to reach a tiny parking area where the PCT crosses the road. There is no PCT signage, but the Peakery app let me know I was there. I took the PCT west for 2.25 miles, where a gully intersects the trail. The gully is the route to the peak. I climbed the gully, then followed a use trail to the summit. The tall pines prevented much of any views from the top." — MikeTeeples • Jul 30, 2023
"Picture perfect day for a hike! I went up the PCT from Polique Canyon Road, then cross country to the summit. I looked in all the rock piles at the summit, but couldn’t find a register. Started hiking at noon, and finished at 3:00, that included lunch at the summit." — Mojavewanderer • Nov 2, 2021
"Made it to the shorter trailhead off the PCT after some sketchy driving on snowed in fire roads. The trip to the summit was in a good foot of snow, and Holly was a good sport post holing up the entire route. The grade was up to 50 degrees in some spots! The trees obscured the views of Big Bear Lake but there was a great window looking at San Gorgonio." — Christopher • Dec 22, 2012
